Item description:

This is a rare Kosta Boda waisted vase with a snake curling around the top half and its red-eyed head extending about 1" above the rim. Most unusual is that the vase is engraved - signed ´Elrica H.V.´ (Elrika Hydman Vallien). I have only found reference or examples of works that she has decorated with paints. The full marking on the bottom are: Kosta Boda - Elrica H.V. - 48752. The vase measures 8 1/8" high (to the rim), 4 1/2" in diameter at the top rim and the base is 4 3/4" in diameter. There is some light scratching on the bottom of the piece, but there are no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. There is also slight indication of having been used and there is occasional light iridescense on the lower half of the inside.
