Item description:
This is a very nice little California oil painting, "Evening in Santa Ynes", by the listed artist Forrest Hibbits (b.1905 - d.1996).   Hibbits was a native of California, who studied art at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and moved to Santa Barbara, Calif. after WWII, where he taught at the Santa Barbara Art Institute.  This painting is an oil and the visible image measures 6 3/8" (15.9cm) x 4 1/2" (11.2cm.  With the framethe overall size is 11 1/2" (28.9cm) x 9 1/2 (23.8cm)".   The frame is sealed on the back and I´m not inclined to open it.  The piece is signed ´Hibbits´ at the bottom, right of center.  The condition looks to be very good.
