Item description:

This is a remarkable looking oriental (Chinese? Japanese?) figure of a standing man carrying a sack over one shoulder and holding a staff or walking stick. The man and base measure 8" high, with the man measuring 6 3/4" tall and the base is 2 5/8" deep by 3 1/8" wide. The piece is pewter and appears to have heavy enameling on his hat, robe and sash. The bottom of the base on which he is standing has the word ´peltro´ stamped twice and ´Italy´ stamped once. I don´t see any other marks. The piece does not appear to be new and shows wear on his chest and left hand, but the enameling looks to be in very good condition with no chips or cracks.
