Hello,

I'm going to be oversea for 8 weeks :veryhappy:
During this period, I will not be able to ship anything out and will probably not have daily access to the internet.

In addition to the little "I am temporarily absent" logo available in the parameter setting, I remember reading somewhere about the possibility to put your store "on hold" for a while but can't find it anymore. Is this option still available ?

Thank for your help

Corinne

Hi Sebastien,

Thank for the offer, I really appreciate the personal touch.

I surely would love to add “Soignies/meet Delcampe Family & team”or “Brussel/the Manneken-Pis” to our “to see” list, but honestly not sure to be able to squeeze this in...this summer.:question:

Thinking of loud: Would that be an idea to start an annual “Delcampe-live” once a year? I’m pretty sure that you can find affordable/amazing site for a weekend in the countryside of Brussels. (I sign-up to help you out)

Sincerely,

Corinne

PS: Just to clarify for those who do not know me yet and might not understand “old world culture” : I’m French –Grew-up in Nancy, the “Art Nouveau” city-, happily wedded for 18years to a German (..) ; we have 2 Grandiose Teens (not always that Great, I should say “Healthy Teens” instead… but it’s nothing wrong being a PROUD Mom, isn’t?)

If you happen to go past it, it's better to turn round and photograph the chocolate shop opposite.

But Belgian chocolate like Cote d'Or is cheaper in England, and much cheaper in France. However, Belgium has many other attractions. A lot of it looks like Burgundy (which it was).

But you won't have that problem in the countryside around Brussels, because there they only have one language --- Dutch.

This is in Tervuren, a tram-ride from Brussels and the home of the African museum.

In case you can't read it, it says:
Brieven. Drukwerken.
Your hubby should be OK, at least.

Hello Rogermo,

Sorry for the delay in reply.
Since I have given my Angels a “No internet for a week”, I had to remove the power cable of my wireless router and only plug it back for short & quick access (…). And we’re still working on it.

About Art Nouveau in France/Nancy, if you are interested, please find here more info:

(The Belgians did have remarkable Artists too, by the way.)

Ah the language barrier …
but, you’re right Dutch seems hard to read!

Have a great day

That's very interesting, but when you said "Art Nouveau City" I was thinking of whole buildings. I think Brussels may be well ahead of Nancy on this.

Art Nouveau ironwork fits in surprisingly well with Gothic stonework.

bonjour rogermo,

those ornate grills/balconies remind me of bourbon street in new orleans many years ago when my brother, my mother, and me visited my aunt who lived in the city. we all went out for a night on the town. ah, that was a night to remember for a young college student. even with his mom and aunt, we had a great time. :veryhappy:

amities,

Extremely interesting !

Your picture of New Orléans reminds me most unexpectedly of my photographs of Sidmouth in Devonshire. The ironwork here is, of course, not Art Nouveau but what in England is called “Regency” (after the rule of the Prince Regent from 1811 to 1820 : as New Orléans managed to double its French-speaking population in 1809, this could be roughly contemporary).

Art Nouveau ironwork generally has very original curved patterns in it.

Even the wooden balconies in Sidmouth have a remarkable similarity to New Orléans. The future Queen Victoria had her first ever shoes here as a baby, and was also grazed by a bullet (other little children shooting sparrows ). This is an English version of what started the First World War !
