I read something about Bogus stamps here at The Forum by Pascal but my red eyes prevent me to find it where it was.

Any way,

Simple solutions for Bogus, Fakes etc.

1.) Permission should be required for to be qualified to list items at "Prefilately"

(Today you can very well get the impression that you can get something really old and expensive for a penny - when itīs not even a prefilaty item.)

2.) More categories = more easy for a.) to remove or b.) to put items at right category.

2.) Information

4.) More specialized "Administrators" responsible for each group.

5.) Encourage active participating by the memebers to report items.

FORGED STAMPS - Classic stamps

Forged classic stamps exists from almost every country in the world,
mint and used.

Although they are collected, classic forged stamps should normally not
meet any problem for possesion in most jurisdictions. However, for selling
a forged classic stamp it must be decribed as such or you are in legal trouble,even for trying to sell sell it - even if not sold.

Stamps from, for example USA, are all still valid as postage.
If you use a forged classic stamp for postage you are in the counterfeiting business - as a Dealer with a big D.

Itīs like to have an old counterfited bank-note still valid as legal tender at home. Try pay with it or to deposit into your bank account and youīre in legal trouble.

COUNTERFeITED STAMPS - Modern stamps

Counterfited stamps exists from almost every country in the world.
Mosty from developed countries like UK and even from Sweden.
Even China has today a problem too as itīs not about philately;
Itīs about to make a profit of selling them to customers in need of stamps for resale or postage.

Although they are collected, counterfited stamps are illegal to posses and sell. If try to sell a counterfited stamp and describe it as such, youīve advertised your final countdown. Use them on a letter and it will be easy to trace you for a judical trial.

Simple solutions:
a.) Inform that information can be found in specialized stampcatalogues.
b.) Inform about the legal situation of possesing, selling or
using counterfited stamps as postage.
//c.) Inform that in many countries itīs also illegal to use stamps for postage which has been washed off from envelopes beeing distrubed by the post. To collect them and sell them as uncancelled with missing gum is not not illegal as long as you donīt cooperate with guys using them as postage.

ILLEGAL STAMPS - Modern issues

Illegal stamps are stamps which pretends to be valid for postage but is
not issued by a postal adminstration, although the bear a name of an existing country or territory.

Solution:
a.) Mark each country in the main directory with a star * in red.
b.) Make a note at the header of each country about illegal issues exists.
c.) Inform about the legal situation of selling forgered stamps without a correct description.
d.) Inform what can happen if you use them for postage
e.) Make a list of all information available for the illegal issus and update regulary (Collect the info from UPU or at least put a link for further info)

Try to use an illegal issued stamp as postage for a letter in Myanmar
and you will miss the plane back home for sure.

Thereīs alot of them in Germany and The Netherlands but it
had never struck my mind to rememeber any of them but I understand Delcampe is a collecting site and itīs not only about Philately.

Most famous in modern time I think is the British mail stricke stamps and the Tunnel stamps.

section among other labels BUT it should be great with a link from
the Philately section for non -experienced philatelist which these labels
are trying to rip them off. OK keep them in the philateic section
and put the right label on the category = LABELS

Anyway, first the categories and then all those countries and non-countries in respective category I think would help a lot for what the question was about.

Hereīs a list of "countries" you can sort as you wish. Some are locals
with a mail delivery. Guess who? and some are really issuing postage stamps valid for international mail. SO thereīs no need to be a member of UPU get the mail to work. Taiwan do it as well as the Turkish Cypriotic Posts bla bla bla
