24hockeyfan: One would have to see a scan of your stamp. As it is used, its condition would go a long ways in determing its value ie:quality of the cancel,is it free of damage tears or pulled perfs for instance etc. Also if you are staking the value of your stamp on something you saw on this site.....that is a bit of a crap shoot. Some sellers are very knowledgeable and set realistic values for their material but there are also a lot of sellers who are either clueless or greedy and set unattainable values on their material some of which may have merit but in far too many cases is absolute junk I would recommend to you if at all possible first have your stamp looked at by a professional or at least a knowledgeable philatelist. If you have a local stamp store go there;if not look up a local stamp club. You may have a gem or a dud but in either case if you dump your item on the auction site at the wrong price, you will not draw flies.Good Luck to you.Cheers!!

hi cindy,
welcome to delcampe. nanook is correct. most of the stamp collectors here such as myself and him have years of experience and can give great assistence but only if we can see images of the item you are describing. my advice to all newcomers is simple: a picture is worth a thousand words. an old but true addage. however, being the novice that you are, you can go to your local library and use the available scott catalogs if they have them to look up your stamps. but again, many stamps look alike but have differences that can make the values more or less, so an expert opinion is often required. hope this helps.
