I was very glad to see the quality of my pictures when I got started to use Delcampe.
But the new auctions I started after 1. july the quality of the picture is very low. You now have to click the picture to see a better quality of the picture.
Are there some others who have the same experience !!!

Anyway, i didn't see that they were different, some i had from before july 1st are as bad than some of now!

I still wonder why my pictures come out so bad. If you take a look at my auctions you will see some with a good picture and some whit a bad picture. Some are even restarts of auctions and now the picture is very bad.
I really hope that customers now take the time to click the pictures to get a better picture.

You are right. Since June, we have had to modify our thumbnail system. Weight of new thumbnails are most of the time two times lighter than older ones. This also means a quality 10% less good in this case.

This has to be done for our (and your) buyers who do not always have a fast connection to the Internet (mostly depending of their countries). Some thumbnails were so heavy that pages locked for some buyers preventing them to visit our listings.

This is the reason why we changed it. Off course, original picture remains as good as previously. They are lighter but loses no quality at all as they are processed by a new program that optimizes them before storing on our servers.

Within some weeks/months, we would like to earn enough money to add a new server for the site. This would improve load of pages and probably allow us to keep thumbnails quality to 100% (in place of 90%) with an optimization as full-sized images.

Tomorrow will be better but we need some money coming from commissions in order to let us improve everything (also advertising in specialized magazines).
