I've asked for identification help of an Italian real-photo postcard on the Italian forum. Someone has kindly offered some help but the babelfish doesn't do justice to their reply and some words don't come out at all.

What is "ein mattoni", for example? I think the bridge is identified as Castelvecchio Bridge but since the tower doesn't match, I 'd like to ask if the tower was rebuilt in 1951 as well as the bridge. How does one say "The comtemporary crenallation on the top of the tower doesn't match the old postcard; was this tower destroyed in 1945, too? Was it re-built with crenallation (which is missing in the old postcard)?" Or something like that anyway!
