New rule forbidding "foreign" bidders     Tue 15th Apr 2008 05:14:28

Hello,

I do not like the new rule that forbids bidders that are registered in other countries to bid if the seller has indicated that he only wants to sell inside his own country. I often buy items from French sellers. Even though I'm registered in Sweden I can through friends arrange a French mailing address and payment in France. Why should I be forbidden to bid?

I have the feeling that many sellers have chosen "sellers own country" without thinking much about it, and they will now lose bidders and money because of the new rules. I have already been in contact with two sellers who didn't know that foreign sellers were forbidden to bid on their auctions.

The new rule is a bad feature that has been copied from eBay. I don't like it at all!

The new rule will probably force me to make a second, fake registration in France. What good will that do the system?

Cheers,
Br2un

The easy way is to have your friends in these countries bid on these items. My friends and I do this even on ebay.
It also helps with sellers who only take bank transfers, checks from the country they live in. Who don't take Pay Pal or Money Bookers.

Then my friends send me all these things together in one package and I save on the shipping fees on top of it.

Vice Versa.
